Shoe

As of this date, the Areni-1 shoe is the oldest piece of footwear found, identified, and dated. Shout-out to the National Geographic Society for being part of that find in Armenia. “Shoe” is a common word, included here since it’s present in a poem. Because I’ve been working with an unlemmatized list, the uncommon past participle “shod” can also be found under its own listing in the concordance.

• 4.049 and they slipped on soft shoes,
• 17.031 and they were shod with iron,
